wifi problem when lid closed on xps13

i bought a new xps13 and along with it an external monitor, keyboard and mouse to use when i m home. the way everything is set up, it would be convenient to close my xps while im working at home. i changed the default setting, to "do nothing" when the lid is closed while pluged in. however if i do so, my wifi seems to have problems. i can do everything on the computer but connecting to the internet doesn't work (even though it shows me the wifi connection)

if i open the lid and put it in the same place with the same wifi reception, everything works fine
