xps 8300 cpu cooling unit upgrades?

are there any cpu cooling upgrades for the xps 8300? i tried searching for it on the dell website but all i see are laptop coolers. if i replace the cpu fans on my own, my warrantly will be void right?

The is no "official" upgrade.  What Dell provides with the PC is considered adequate (and it is for almost all users).   This holds true for any Dell model (and older Dell's must have the Dell proprietary fan).

As we are just users helping users on here and not Dell employees, I can't speak for what changing hardware such as this would do to the warranty.

You should have bought a "gaming" PC if that's what you want.  The 8300 is basically a "multimedia" PC.   The Dell Alienware systems are Dell's gaming systems.

2LtJoel,

The XPS 8300 still packs a lot of power so don't be discouraged.  Anyway I had an Inspiron 530 that I upgraded the Intel processor and was able to remove the metal brackets that the Dell headsink was connected to and then attached the heatsink that came with the processor.  I believe the XPS 8300 motherboard uses the same metal brackets.

From what I understand, anything you modify would be void.  In this case it would be the motherboard so it would no longer be under warranty, but the other components should still be under warranty.  Hard drive, DVD drive, graphics card, etc.
