2009 Precision T7500, adding USB 3.0
Hello,
i have problem with my Dell Precision T7500 workstation. I want to add new USB 3.0 controler, but when i plugged in, install drivers and restart my workstation i cannot use ports. I tried to find in bios option with USB 3.0, but i couldn't find it. Please for answer there are any dedicated usb 3.0 controlers for t7500 motherboard or i doing something wrong.
Greetings!

Does the IB-AC614a USB 3.0 device appear in the Device Manager?
Note, their site states, "The card is intended Windows 7/8 (32/64-bit) operating systems.". Are you running Windows 7? We never validated Windows 8 or 10 on this 2009 model.

* Link to the USB 3.0 device that you installed
* Specifically, where did you plug it in? An add-in USB 3.0 device will not add a reference to itself in the BIOS. It would only appear in the operating system Device Manager
* No, the 2009 T7500 motherboard does not have USB 3.0 connectors. This model only supported USB 2.0. See page 20

Link to the USB device:
www.raidsonic.de/.../index_en.php
I plug it into: PCI Express 2.0 x16 Card Slot, wired as x4 (SLOT6)
In operating system device menager everything is ok, no yellow exclamation marks.

I would test the cards in every PCIe slot. If still no go, contact them for further support of their card. Ask them if they have tested in our 2009 system.

The first thing Right off the bat is that that card REQUIRES Aux power connection. Working with All OS including Mac OS means this is a card that uses NATIVE windows drivers.
YOU CANNOT ADD USB3 PCI-E card and BOOT via F12 bios. This isnt supported in ANY PC let alone Dell.
Dell is not support for IB-AC614a.
You need to use a Known Working Native to windows card that includes sufficient power to actually run.

Max Power for X1 PCI-E = 10W
4 ports USB3 900MA per port = 3.6 AMPS @ 5V = 18W
Cards that Do not need Aux power are X4 not X1 cards.
