A16 Bios?
Hi Chris,
Is there any advantage in updating from A15 to A16 Bios? I have a Studio XPS 9000.
Will I still be able to upgrade from an Intel 975 to a 980?
Thanks,
Ara

The A16, according to the listing, doesn't add or take away any processor support. It says a "microcode update at the request of Intel".
Just keep in mind BIOS updates are critical and a failed BIOS update and a corrupted BIOS and the ONLY option is to replace the motherboard. Most BIOS updates install without a problem but it is something to be aware of.

I did the A16 upgrade and that went fine, but now it seems my Dell is locking up and is very slow at shut down. I'll check it out some more, but if necessary can I go back to A15?

Ara7,
You can re-flash to a previous BIOS version.

My husband tried this update and he's now waiting for a new motherboard.
I'd avoid this at all costs.

ejhawk45,
The same way you flashed the computer to its current BIOS version. Just download and use the A14 BIOS file.
