BFG 6800 GT

Sorry if this has been asked 100 times.... I want to updgrade my video to a BFG 6800 GT.  I have a Dim4600 2.66/533.

Will my Mobo handle this?  I don't want to wait and/or shop needlessly if my board is limited to a lesser card.  If it's not able to handle this what would you recommend.

Thanks!

It should work no probs, the only concern would be the power supply, but it runs fine in the 8200 with same 250w.. Go for it

Nice Machine! How do you like that OCZ PS with the green LED fan's and dedicated controlled power video and hard drive lines??? Look over on HARD OCP.com and check out the Gigabyte 3D Rocket CPU Cooler they have linked. You could boost that up to 2.6GHz pretty easily and with a 2000+fsb that would really rock!!! I am trying to get one now for mine. At stock clocks they are beating the P4 extremes on Doom III so you can imagine what it will do pumped. Glad you got yours running!!!!!!!!!!!

Greatone, you can do just as good a job. Pushing the on button the first time is anticipation at its best!!! Forums like amdmb can help you select mobo's and ram combinations and the best performance/price ratio etc. They even have mobo specific forums etc. The MSI board seems to be the best for the 64's right now, so you could go one better than I did!!!! By the way, this Stacker case is quiet even with eight fan's running (300mm mobo fan running at medium speed). The OCZ PS is a quiet unit too!!

Places like Monarch will test the mobo, ram and CPU to make sure they work and give you a 1 year warranty (costs slightly more). If you go that route you can insure it will boot unless something happens in shipping.
