Cant Login as Number Keys Not Working on Inspiron 6400 (I wld appreciate assistance from DELL-Sundeep B?)
Hi,
Just started my 'puter but can't logon.
I enter my password but the field will only accept non-numeric characters.
Please help!
(DELL-sundeep B was so good in previously helping me solve a monitor problem).

Hi Pac,
I would suggest you to connect an external USB keyboard to the system to check if the issue reoccurs. If the external USB keyboard works fine it should be an issue with the keyboard. If you face the same issue of some keys not working on the external USB keyboard also it should be operating system issue.

The add-on keyboard worked. So, what can I do now about the keyboard that has the top row of numerics not working?

Hi Pac,
The keyboard should be faulty and you would need to replace it. Please private message me the system service tag and your contact details so that I can arrange a callback from our out of warranty department for repairs on your system.
