Dell Inspiron 660S Hardware Upgrade - Compatibility
I have a Dell Inspiron 660S. Its almost 5 years old now and does not support the latest games. I was thinking of upgrading the RAM and GPU. My current configuration:
RAM: 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz - 1X4GB/1X2GB
Processer: 3rd Gen Intel Core i5-3330S
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 620 1 GB DDR3
I am considering upgrading the RAM to 8 GB and the GPU. Can anyone help me verify if the replacements I have in mind would be compatible with my system.
RAM replacement: www.amazon.in/.../ref=ox_sc_act_title_3
GPU replacement option 1: https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B01AY78NFW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2ZDTQHEW9KVXR
GPU replacement option 2: https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B06XZ4Q86N/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AWCJCH0B5MMBT
It would be of great help is some could check and let me know if the above would be compatible with my system. Thanks.

Can we assume you're running 64-bit Windows? And which version of Windows is it?
If you run identical RAM modules in the 2 slots, the RAM will run in "dual-channel" mode and be somewhat faster.
Don't know about the RAM you're considering, but many people around here order RAM from crucial.com for Dell PCs. If Crucial recommends the RAM for a specific PC model, they guarantee it works or they take it back.

Hi Ron, I am running Windows 10 64 bit OS. Currently I have DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz - 1X4GB and 1X2GB in both slots. These 2 modules came with the system in the initial order. I want to replace the 1X2GB with a Crucial CT51264BD160B 4GB 1600MHz DDR3L 240-Pin Desktop Memory.
As for the GPU, I want to replace my existing NVIDIA GeForce 620 1 GB DDR3 with either ASUS Nvidia GeForce GT 710 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express Graphic Card or ZOTAC GeForce GT 730 4GB DDR5 64-bit PCI Express 2. 0 (both low profile).
Would my system support these replacements?
