Dell Studio Studio XPS 435MT will not power off
Hello,
I bought this machine to run Opensolaris, but unfortunately, the system will not power off when I shutdown my system. Many people in the opensolaris forum have indicated that this is due to a BIOS bug which this machine has. Is Dell monitoring this forum? Can anyone help here?

Is it a "bug" in the BIOS code on this machine, or is it an "incompatibility" with OpenSolaris? As Solaris is not a supported OS for this system, I don't think it would be a BIOS "bug" if it works fine with all supported OS's.
Is Dell "monitoring this forum"? No. However, there are some Dell employees on here that might be willing to check their internal database for possible known issues, but this is not considered an official support avenue with Dell, so keep in mind that anyone here is here voluntarily.
