Dell XPS 8300 motherboard and GTX 770 - compatibility issues?

Hello all. I have been planning to upgrade my Dell XPS 8300 with a new power supply, graphics card, and case. At this point, I have not decided to get a new motherboard, and use the one that was inside the 8300. This is the mobo: http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/specs-0y2mrg-dell/

For my graphics card, I have gone with GTX 770. However, after reading online in various places, I have learned that the Dell Bios has compatibility issues with the GTX 680. Some say this problem was patched in a later driver update, but I have not found anything convincing.

However, I have not found any people with 770s having a problem, only people afraid of getting one because of this compatibility issue. My question is, is there anyone who has confirmed they work or don't work? Worst case scenario I can get a new mobo.

Hello Bl1tzk1d,

The GTX 770 should work with a 650W PSU. The XPS 8300 was shipped with the 460W PSU. Hence, please consider upgrading the PSU. For more details, see GTX 770 compatible with XPS 8300 motherboard.

Regarding compatibility, no issues have been reported with GTX 770 so far.

Hope this helps!
