Disabling ACPI

Hi,
How to Completely Disable ACPI (Advanced Configuration Power Interface) on Dell OptiPlex 960 slim mini tower?
i checked the system setup using F12 and found nothing related to this in power management category

Always include version of Windows in your posts.

Did you mean you pressed F2?

Why do you want to do this, assuming it's even possible? Have you looked at the active Windows Power Plan settings to make whatever changes you want?

Not sure this is possible after reading this from the MS forums...

In general, Windows uses the BIOS to build the ACPI table that describes the existing hardware.  With Win2K and earlier, you could opt to disable this and go directly to hardware(via the F5 setup options).  However, for XP and higher, this option is no longer available and as such you will need to make sure your hardware complies with your particular bus standards in order for it to be detected properly via ACPI (see http://acpi.info/ for details on this). 

ACPI is a coordination between the hardware and the ACPI supporting OS.  The OS only deals with ACPI shows (there may be a few exceptions to this, but this is how Windows operates now).
