Front Panel not detected

Hi --

I have a Dell Precision T3400 and it has a SoundBlaster FX card. That card has a cable from the Front Panel to itself. I want to take out the SoundBlaster and just use the on board audio. But when I unplug that cable it gives "Front Panel not detected" on every bootup. I see no BIOS settings to disable this?

Thank you!

looked at the motherboard specs and there is no port onboard like that on the audio card.

when a customer elects to use the onboard audio instead of the add-in card dell will install a little loop-back cable on the front panel.  wish i had a part# for it.  fou might try to contact dell let them know what you are wanting to accomplish and maybe they can sort out a solution for you.

Just in case someone runs into the same problem again (like me), the loop back connector just shortens all pairs of pins (except for the registration pin of course). Taken from the original connector and tested on another T3400 (with the sound card removed).

Schematically it looks like this:
