I need to make a power point

PowerPoint is part of MS Office suite, not Works, and must be purchased.  An similar alternative program is OpenOffice, available for free at www.openoffice.org

One thing about MS office, is that there is a major  change from the 2003 to 2007 versions.

If you are using an older version (2003 and before) you need to download and install a patch in order to be able to read the 2007 version format. The icons are different to be able to distinguish between the two formats.

You can save the 2007 version in the 2003 format. Just be sure to click Save As option and then  select 97-2003 version. This is helpful if you know there is a machine that does not have 2007 installed, and it would be troublesome to download this patch (ie inside a network with restrictions user control)
