Instant Messengers

For some reason, my instant messengers are not working on my computer. They'll only work if i turn them on when i barely start up my computer. And as soon as I turn on another program, they stop working. I mainly am concerned for my AIM. But my Yahoo Mess. has the same problem. Any solutions?

you really haven't provided enough info on the problem to figure out what is happening.  Give some info on your system specs, what programs you have on it and what exactly happens when aim "stops working".  Is it a new problem and did aim ever work?  Did you change something or add something and then it stopped working?  Give as much background to the problem as you can.  For a start software firewalls block im so make sure you configure your firewall right or turn of the software firewall just for testing.
