Latest Windows 10 update - CD/DVD driver vanished! It's NOT recognizing the
drive
Anyone have this problem too? I put in a CD last night. Won't eject. NO DEVICE LISTED under Device Manager. Was working fine prior to that latest update. Will need to try system restore and/or look for driver online. ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH

Without even knowing a model number there is very little that can be done.
If the drive is not physically bad then its the mass storage chipset drivers aka INTEL RST and the SATA OPERATION of the drive.
If your system has ATA instead of AHCI that would do it.
The CD vs a DVD is also an issue.
CD's do not have region codes but they do have open or unclosed sessions that would prevent them from being read.
This is error code 39 on the optical drive.
There is no support from DELL for an upgraded OS.
