New Universal Microsoft Mouse

This Wireless Mobile 3000 Mouse is not working with the Dell Vostro 200 desktop.  Is it compatible?

A new mouse is needed.  What mouse can be brought over the counter locally?

If it conects via USB, it should be compatible. Are you connecting the receiver to a rear port on the PC?

Did the mouse come with software on a CD that you need to install?

Does the mouse have fresh batteries?

There's probably a button on the mouse and another one on the receiver that plugs into the PC. You may need to press both bottoms at the same time to synchronize the mouse with the receiver, but check the instructions to see if there's a different sequence to press the buttons.

Virtually any USB mouse should be compatible with the Vostro.

I found the manual here:

The Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 connects directly to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port and operates on both the PC and Macintosh platforms.

To use the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000, consumers should download the mouse software at http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downloads for full functionality of all features.

Synchronization:

1.insert receiver into usb port

2.Turn on mouse by pressing ON switch on bottom

3.With receiver in usb port, press Connect button. The green light on the receiver will flash indicating it is ready to synch.

4.Push Connect button on mouse
