Get recovery disks from Dell support in your country.

This forum is not direct access to dell support.

I do not work for dell.

Using Dell Factory Image Restore permanently deletes all data on the hard drive and removes any programs or drivers installed after you received your computer. If possible, back up the data before using this option. Use Dell Factory Image Restore only if System Restore did not resolve your operating system problem.  DELL factory image restore is NOT Available in all countries or all Dell computers.

  1. Turn on the computer.

  2. When the DELL logo appears, press few times to access the Advanced Boot Options window.

     NOTE: If you wait too long and the operating system logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Microsoft Windows desktop; then, shut down your computer and try again.
  3. Select Repair Your Computer.
    The System Recovery Options window appears.

  4. Select a keyboard layout and click Next.

  5. To access the recovery options, log on as a local user. To access the command prompt, type administrator in the User name field, then click OK.

  6. Select Dell Factory Image Restore or Dell Factory ToolsDell Factory Image Restore (depending on the configuration of your computer).

  7. Click Next.
    The Confirm Data Deletion screen appears.

     NOTE: If you do not want to proceed with Dell Factory Image Restore, click Cancel.
  8. Select the check box to confirm that you want to continue reformatting the hard drive and restoring the system software to the factory condition, then click Next.
    The restore process begins and may take five or more minutes to complete.

  9. When the restore operation is complete, click Finish to restart the computer.

ValorHeart,

Try this...

* Turn off the computer
* The only external devices plugged into the computer are the keyboard, mouse, and monitor
* Turn on the computer
* When the Dell splash screen appears, press and hold Ctrl and then press F11. Then, release both keys at the same time
* In the Dell PC Restore by Symantec window, click Restore. Alternatively, press Tab to highlight Restore, and then press Enter
* When a warning message appears stating that all data will be lost, click Confirm, or press Tab to highlight Confirm and then press Enter
* The Progress window will appear. Once the restore process starts, Dell PC Restore by Symantec usually takes about 8 to 10 minutes to finish
* When the restore process is complete, the following message will appear:
The system recovery process was successful
* Click Finish or press Tab to highlight Finish and then press Enter to restart the computer
