1. PCI Serial Port

2. PCI Simple Communication Controller

3. SM Bus Controller

These are all INTEL Chipset Drivers.

SM Bus is the Base CHipset Driver

The Serial port and Communication controller is INTEL AMT SOL  HECI Drivers and INTEL Management Engine Drivers.

Hi jinal14821,

It seems missing drivers on the system. , I’d suggest that you update BIOS and chipset driver on your computer to check for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS from BIOS section and chipset from chipset section onto the system and install it.

Also, refer to the link below to install drivers in correct order for issue resolution.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi ,

I have installed "Intel Chipset Device Software Driver" .

Now "SM BUS Controller Driver" successfully installed.

Other two still remain. Do I need to install all chipset driver ? ( There are four)

I purchased system just 10 days ago and received it yesterday . Do I really need to update BIOS ?

It seems complicated so. How can I check current version ?

Thanks

Hi jinal14821,

Sorry for the delayed response. You have the latest BIOS updated on the system. I would like to know the ‘Hardware ID’ of the unknown device. Please follow the steps mentioned below to find the ‘Hardware ID’ in device manager.

  1. Open Device manager.
  2. Right click on the ‘Unknown device’ and select ‘Properties’.
  3. Click on ‘Details’ tab.
  4. Under ‘Property’ there should be drop down.
  5. Please select ‘Hardware IDs’ from the drop down.
  6. Please give us the details you find under values.
