Radeon HD 5450 - 3 displays?

Hi all,

I have a Dell Inspiron, a lillte over a year old. It has an ATI Radeon HD 5450 graphics card with 3 outputs: 1xVGA, 1xDVI and 1xHDMI. I'd like to know if it's possible to run three displays from this card? I currently use the VGA and DVI outputs to run 2 LCD monitors without any problems. I'm thinking of adding an HDMI monitor, or another VGA monitor with an active adapter/converter, to the HDMI output. Anyone have experience of this and know if it works?

Thanks!

You can run 3 displays from a card like that when its an "eyefinity" version of the card with a display port adapter or 2 or 3.

Eyefinity is the marking name for a feature that will definitely appeal to many potential buyers, and the Radeon HD 5450 is perhaps most attractive to non-gamers with a practical need for a triple-monitor setup .

Low profile Kit

Club 3D provides everything you need to transform your low profile graphics card into a low profile configuration. All you need is to replace the standard profile bracket (standard in the video card) to the two brackets included in the package.

No. you have 2 possible displays --one vga and one dvi/hdmi (these 2 are the same digital output) You can use one or the other but not both dvi and hdmi at the same time.

Something like this will work: www.ebay.com/.../380342513038

The cost is more than the typical 5450, but it has advertised support for three monitors.
