Reinstall Windows 7

My XPS 8900's Desktop disk C: drive failed.

(Luckily mostly backed up onto Ext HDD).

The recovery image for Win 7 was on a partition on this drive.:emotion-6:

but I have a Win 7 Installation disk from my Inspiron Laptop.

Can I use this? What about drivers for the desktop?

The answer depends on the age of the Windows 7 disc. If it's from an older system, you're going to have to either contact Dell for a recovery image for your system, or build yourself a new install media set (see the process detailed below) because this is a Skylake system - which doesn't have full hardware support for any out of the box Windows 7 media.
