Ive just pulled a Quadro FX 3500 and replaced with a Quadro 4000 , these both work well with the 390 but do not have a VGA or buy another FX 550 they cant be that expensive. sean

Most all the Quadro cards are expensive and most have dual DVI connectors.  You can just use a DVI to VGA adapter if you need to hook up a VGA monitor. The X300 should work though if you completely uninstalled the Nvidia drivers and software before attempting to use an ATI card and installing its driver and software.  You can find the Nvidia 8400 GS for only around $30 which would have both DVI and VGA and is better than the X300.  It is a Geforce card and not a Quadro, however.   Make sure you are getting a PCIe X16 card and connecting to this motherboard slot.
