System restore

I have windows XP
My system restore has been working fine the past two years.  Now it does not restore anymore. The message I get is "your computer can not be restored. No changes have been made. I tried to restore many of the previous dates but always get the same response.
How can I get it to work properly again?

System Restore can become corrupt and the only way to repair it, is to start over again.

Start by disabling System Restore, Go to Start > Control Panel > System > System Restore tab and check "Turn Off System Restore on All Drives".

Reboot the computer and then enable system restore and try to create a manual restore point and restore to it.

You will loose any saved restore dates, but as you can not use them, they are of no use.

Bev.

it needs a restore point to restore to so if one has not been created, it will not restore to a previous point.

but that's just my guess.
