Vostro 400 video card

My internal stock video card failed several months ago. I used the motherboard connection instead but running into problems supporting some graphics. I threw out the card and now looking at replacing it (hanging on to the old XP box in spite of progress)

There are cheap Nvidia 8300 GS cards available, but would these work. Saw a reference that the stock card is a Nvidia 8300 GT but don't know if I can trust this.

Many thanks.
