Why does my clock keep showing wrong time on my XPS?
It is on the right zone and I have changed time several times since I got my XPS (2 months ago) because it will give the wrong time. Right now it shows 10:45 am when it is actually 11:26 am. It is syncronized with time.windows.com and is updated daily. Why does the clock randomly change times--and it is off by a different amount each time--from a couple of minutes up to an hour or 2.
Thanks,
lane

couple of things, make sure your bios time is set correctly, or setup program...
another, ,might replace the battery on the motherboard
right click on time in the taskbar, click on adjust time, click on internet time, click on change settings, see if the , see if the box is checked, syncronizing the time..if so , uncheck it and see if it helps
click
hope this helps

Mine did that too and changing Sync Sites did not help.
My Beast's clock was always 2-3 minutes off....
So, I disabled auto time tuning and ever since then, My Beast has kept perfect time!!!
Peace

Sorry Chris..... here you go....
1. Double Click on Time in the Windows Task Bar
2. Click the Time Zone Tab
3. Click Advanced? and look for Sync
4. If on Vista, click ok to the UAC warning
5. Here you have choices as to which clock you want to sync to
6.a. Select a different time zone if you want to try OR
6.b. Uncheck the Radio Button for Automatic Sync......
7. Click apply & ok
Now go back to the original window.... or if you closed it, double click time in taskbar again
Set your Time (and date if necessary) manually, I always consult my mobile phone for this.
Apply and OK..... after I did that, the Beast has been keeping perfect time.
I did this before Daylight Savings Time kicked in, I did leave the radio button checked to adjust clock automatically for DST.... and a couple of weeks ago, the Beast automatically Sprang forward.
This method has been keeping perfect time for me since 4 months ago.... !!!
Peace

Got in this morn and it is off again by 33 minutes. I disabled the clock sync so that is not the problem. Any others with suggestions?
