XPS 420 cpu upgrade options ?
Currently have an Intel Q6600 Quad Core 2.66GHz cpu , wondering what upgrade options are available to this box ?
Will the i7 range for example fit on my board ?
Not sure where to find this info, dell parts has no CPU option.
Thanks for any help

and if the i7 range does not fix , what is the best performing CPU i can fit ?
extreme range for example.

The XPS 420 does not support any i3/i5/i7 processors, as they not supported by the XPS 420 Socket LGA 775.
You can find a list of supported processors for the XPS 420, HERE
Prior to installing the processor, you need to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version A07, with version A06 added support for newer processors was added.
