dimension 3100, mouse and keyboard are not responding
I have dimension 3100 that the mouse and keyboard are not responding. When it is turned on, it boots up windows to XP the welcome page but cannot use keyboard nor mouse to logon. I think that the problem can be related to BIOS, so I remove the battery for 20 minutes. When I turn it on after replacing the battery it beeps and displays “keyboard failure” press F1 to continue or F2 for set up. I try several times by using different working keyboards, but nothing changes. So currently I can no longer get the welcome page. Please can someone help Please???????!!!!!!

I presume you have USB keyboard and mouse. Did you try different ports?
If that doesn't help, try powering down, pulling the power cord and then pressing the power button for 10 seconds. The plug it back in and power up. That fixed my dead USB ports a couple of times.
