how to rebuilt a raid 1 on dell Precision 7610 after a disk failure

Hi guys, first sorry for my english

I'm tryng to learn how to manage raid volume. At work we have a Precision T7610 with a RAID 1 Hardware.

One of the two HDD was broken  we removed and we have to replace that with a new one and rebuilt the array, but i'm not sure how proceed,  becasuse lack of experience. For example i read some post that i need an hard disk with the same geometry of the old one, what it means?

I supposed i needed only an HD with the same dimension of broken one(2 TB) but from what i read they must have also other property in common.

Is it true?

i Suppose depends on the hardware,  but exist some macro guide to download or read that help me how to do?.  For example if I put the new hard disk in the slot where the broken one was, the system automatically the new hard disk as a part of the RAID 1 Array and start with the Syncronization, or I have to enter in the firmware that manage the array, assign the new disk to the array and manually start the Syncronization manually?

Sorry if I asked stupid things……but I’m a very newbie
