Any laptop drive should work in the system. The largest ones I've seen are 200GB at this time. They do spin just 4200 rpm though, but if you're ok with that, you should be able to buy one and use it in the system (will most likely have to reinstall the whole OS, unless you have a way to clone one drive to the other on your notebook).

I can't find 100% confirmation on this, but I suspect the system uses ATA drives, not the newer SATA drives, so be sure to buy an ATA laptop drive.

Thanks for your reply. The reason I am asking is, I had a Dell C610 in the past, and this model only supported drives up to 60GB, maybe a BIOS limitation, even with the latest greatest BIOS upgrade. I also found that acknowledged by a post here in the forum, stating the C610 only supports up to 60GB drives.

A 80GB drive I tried to install to the C610 failed to work, and I want to make sure, before I buy a used M60, that I dont run into the same issue here.

The M60 was sold originally with a 40 or 60GB drive by Dell, so I wondered if there is the same limitation eventually with that system.

However, the M60 has a ATA, no SATA interface, I already found that.

So if someone could confirm I could use a ATA drive > 60GB in a M60 I would really appreciate, since the standard 60GB doesnt my needs.

Thanks again and regards, Jo

Dell themselves offered an 80Gb option for the M60 so that's fine by definition but beyond that you're in -it-and-see territory....
