problems installing Radeon 9250 PCI on Dimension 3000

Hi...

 

Followed the instructions for install and here is exactly what happened.

 

1. System booted to VGA drivers

2. Installed software

3. First attempt failed and a memory dump occured

4. Second attempt to install software was succesful

5. reboot, everything fine until after WinXP load screen- everything went blank and stayed that way

6. unplugged the monitor from the Radeon and plugged back into the standard video card, which everything was back to normal.

7. replugged back into the Radeon, and back to VGA drivers again.

8. reboot while connected to the Radeon, same thing all over

9. checked Device Manager, both video card drivers still present.

 

I'm afraid to delete the standard driver, as that is the only one working right now. It seems to me the setup should have taken care and properly installed the video card. Any advice?

 

System:

Dimension 3000

P4 2.8, 1GB RAM
