"Garbled" video to TV

HI, I have an Inspiron 530 with XP that I added a MSI R4250 graphics card to so that I could display my desktop on my TV (Sony Grand Wega (rear projecion)). I'm using a cable that is DVI out to component in to the TV  and the screen comes up but is "garbled/scrambled", it looked at first like old fashioned "vertical hold" on a TV. I played around with the resolutions and refresh rates and it changes some but still pretty much unreadable. ANY help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
