"IO CARD PARITY INTERRUPT AT 6000:1D52"

Dell, (URGENT)

Our customers are getting this error with the most
recent Dell Optiplex Modules when they install a
a Basic 5 Volt PCI card.  The works fine on all
other PCs and Types.

Below is the error,

"IO CARD PARITY INTERRUPT AT 6000:1D52
TYPE S TO SHUT OFF NMI, R TO REBOOT
OTHER KEYS TO CONTINUE"

The above error occurs before OS Boot, it appears
to be related BIOS boot.

Your support states that there is a critical fix for
Dell Optiplex 330 BIOS for 12/23/07.

Can some one at Dell Call me directly.  This is
extremely important.

Our OEMs may have to migrate to another
vendor if this can not get resolved ASAP.

Keithley Instruments support a rather large Dell
Community with Data Acqusition boards and they
tend to buy a Dell Brand PCs and have not had
issues for the lat 15 years.

The update BIOS Rev Dates 12/23/07 did NOT resolve issue.  It is underlying BIOS issue when you install a PCI 5 Volt Card.

If this is an urgent issue I suggest you call into Tech Support to see if they have seen this before.

Hi Dennis,  I was just left on hold for an hour.

Here what I know so far, our boards work in a GX620 okay we have Dell (Case #185689938) working on the same issue.  The Optiplex 330 uses Intel G31Express Chipset w/ ICH7R, it is what I have been told.  Is there Intel Chip Set Legacy Issue when trying to use certain PCI cards with newer Dells that have the latest chip sets?

There have been times where I have seen some brands of cards that just won't work with certain MB's.  I have seen this on Dell MB's, and retail versions of the board.  As for the chipset, if one is not listed on our support site, I suggest going to the Intel site and look for the update.  Also, you might want to post on the workstation/optiplex board.  Someone there might have seen this before.
