sleep mode
dell inspiron 518 seems to be stuck in sleep mode.
green power light on rear of unit remails lit
power button on front of unit is dark
no response when presssing power button on front of unit
tried holding in power button no response
unpluged and repluged power cord several times

Hi hockeymf,
It looks as though the Power supply Unit (P.S.U) is turning on but unable to transfer the power to the computer. Request you to try the following steps:
(1) Turn off the computer.
(2) Remove all the external peripherals like printer, flash drives, etc.
(3) Now press and hold power button for 30sec, it releases the static on the computer (if present)
(4) Now try turning on the computer.
If it still doesn’t work then you can try reseating hard drive and memory. You may also refer the below link for manual which may help:
