I posted photos of opening the front cover on flickr some time ago so that people replacing/adding units into the front bays could have a visual to look at while reading the manual which Dave has so kindly posted a link for.
On flickr go to people search and look for fiachra25701, picts are posted there.

thanks for answering people i new if i said it coundnt be done someone would prove me wrong
the pic instructions are especially good
the reason i wanted to remove front cover was to get to earphone socket to repair it
now ive just got to see if its as simple as it looks
