Got EMCIE in Backup and Recovery

Hi,

This is Stalin working for ControlCenter Team in Bangalore.I joined EMC 2 years before as a fresher.Right now I am working as an ASP.NET Application Developer. But start from the beginning I was more interested in Storage Skills. But unfortunately the project in which I was working now doesnt have any kind of exposure towards Storage.

I started preparing EMCPA(EMC Technology Foundations) and successfully completed the exam last year. Then a year passed , still searching for an answer ,whether to choose  ASP.NET as my career or towards Storage. Finally I have taken the step of moving towards Storage.

I started studying for the Backup  and Recovery Implementation Specialist  Exam. Finally yesterday I have successfully completed EMCIE (BURA) exam successfully.

Right now I am little bit confused on what to CHOOSE NEXT ?  ( whether to write Customer Engineer Exam for Clariion or Symmetrix

or to write Implementation Engineer exam for Clariion \Symmetrix or to write SAN Specialist Exam ?)

Please suggest me a nice career path.

Regards

Stalin

Hello and thanks for the good question.....a career path is clearly an important choice. I will ask our curriculum managers to weigh in on this. Meanwhile, you might want to check out Joe Milardo's video on the Proven tracks and specialties for customers. (see "Our best short videos on the left). Don't let the title throw you off. It should give you a start on what to look for in the various roles that are available for storage and information management professionals. Respond back here after viewing it. Also, you might want to respond to a few of the other threads from individuals who have been successful with Proven Professional on this site. Ask them why they made their career choices. A couple threads are "who are you" and "calling all EMC Proven Professionals" (links from the Popular Discussions box).

regards, and welcome to the community.

Thanks for the quick response. I have seen all the short videos regarding ISM and Proven Professionals. They are really helpful for a person like me who is really new to this Proven Community.

A person like me, who doesnt know much about storage Field  , will need to have a lot more information  and a clear focus on the area which he wants to choose to move further.

Is there any other videos which specifically explains the nature of job, opportunities, advantages  for each  specific Certified Professionals ( like  Nature of Job  - EMCIE or EMCCE or EMCST .) ?

Hello Stalin, welcome to our community!  It can be difficult to determine what career path is best, but based on what you've said it soiunhds as though you're interested in implementing storage.  If that's the case, you may want to consider CLARiiON Solutions IS as your next step.

Maybe if you read through the description on the CLARiiON Solutions IE certification, it will help you to understand if that's the right choice.

Anyone else want to offer a suggestion?
