Path to EMC cert?

Hi, I am confused about the path to EMC certification and would like to know if someone can help me out.  What is the first exam i should take?  Would i be able to pass an exam using only the docs found on the Powerlink Site?...or do i have to purchase books and/or go to EMC training.  I am fairly knew at EMC technology but am a fast learner and can gain a lot of knowledge on my own through reading and hands on studying......We have a CX4 at the job.  I need to get a cert the cheapest possible way as training dollars are few.....I will be paying out of pocket.

Also, I would like to pursue no more than a specialist level cert in Clariion.   but if there is a general associate cert that i can get that comes with a logo and certification document/title, I would be ok with that also, for now.

If anyone can help guide me on the right path, i would appreciate it.

Thanks

I'm moving this to the Proven Advisor community - I'm sure others wonder about this too.

Here's a link to a web page that will show you the Associate level EMC Proven Professional certification, Information Storage and Management.  We offer a variety of ways to prepare:  classroom training, videotaped training, and we even offer a book that not only prepares you for the exam but also serves as an excellent resource.

On the same page, you will find an exam description where you can see the topics that are included in the certification exam.  It's a good idea to review the exam description and assess your knowledge against each topic.

Also, there is a free practice test.  Passing the practice test doesn't guarantee that you'll pass the exam, but it will give you feedback about what areas you might want to learn more about.

I know you mentioned that cost is an issue.  Given that constraint, I'd recommend the Information Storage and Management book which is available either in hard copy or via Kindle.

Achieving your Associate level certification will give you access to an EMC Proven Professional logo that you can use on your business card or as you like.  We recommend achieving your Associate level certification first to build a solid foundation for Specialist level.

Hope this answers your questions, please let me know if I can offer additional help.

EMC training is necessary at the Specialist level, but for now just concentrate on using all of the tools at your disposal (the book, the exam description, the free practice test).  Let's get you Associate level certified!

Thanks a lot for your help.  I will get the book and will try to pass the exame after reading the book.  are there similar books that you recommend for the two courses recommended for the Clariion specialist exam or do you think a class or specific EMC training is necessary for that exam?

Thanks again.
