Can someone clarify when will the new VNX exam be available. Will it be a new exam number or will it be a replacement for E20-522. I am currently preparing for the 522 exam and if the exam is going to be replaced within a month then I would like to know so that I can take the 522 exam right away under the current objectives.

In answer to your question regarding EMC Storage Administrator VNX certification the planned certification curriculum information is available at the following link and will be in the customer catalog available at EMC World next week.

The eLearning courses shown on this  page are available now, the Instructor-Led and Online-ILT courses will be available in June. The exam will be available in September and will have a new exam number E20-547.

So what is the prerequisite before thaking the E20-547 certification exam ?

The EMC Proven Professional certification program is designed as a role based program because we view certification as representation of readiness to perform a role.  A role based program takes into account a number of factors that are unique to a specific role.  Within each role, it is possible to build upon previously earned certifications by moving through our Associate, Specialist and Expert certifications.  Where to begin depends, to a degree, on the role you are interested in pursuing.

While there are no formal pre-requisites to taking the E20-547 exam, it is recommended that you first achieve the Associate level certification.  The exam description will also provide more detail regarding the exam content, recommended curriculum and a link to the online practice test.

Thanks for the assistance, so in this case yes I have just completed the EMC VNX Administration course so now I would like to take the exam that is available for me, so in this case E20-547, may I know where can I find the Online Practice test ?

You need to start with the E10-001 ISM certification and the go for the Specialist level in VNX on either TA or IE

Hi Simon/Debi,

I have cleared the ISM V2 Certification and eligible for next stage exam for the speciality. I'm already working for the track from last 3 years and have hands on for CX4 & VNXe 5300 series boxes.

I need to confirm whether I can give the VNX expert level certification directly or I have to appear the Specialist exam first or how the hierarchy flows for the certification in EMC?

Hi Sagar,

The certification framework is designed for you to advance through the Associate, Specialist and Expert levels in that order. You can certainly study for and take an expert level exam at this point, but you will not earn the Expert credential until you have also completed a Specialist level certification in that track.

You can take our exams in any order, however a certification is earned only after all requirements are met. 

A complete listing of EMC Proven Professional exam descriptions can be found here.  These documents contain details on the exam, recommended curriculum as well as a link to an online practice test.  This practice test will assist you in determining readiness to sit for an exam.
