AHCI vs. IRRT
What are the specific differences between AHCI and IRRT? Or rather, more to the point, why is IRRT the factory default for E-series laptops which only have one hard drive?

IRRT is very similar to AHCI, but it has the added advantage of being able to leverage 2 drives. Since it has the most capabilities, it is the factory default even when only one drive is present.
