E6420 Wireless switch

We had to reload an e6420 so it could be given to another employee. The wireless switch no longer works. The light on the chassis of the laptop does not light up regardless of switch position. I have checked the BIOS and it is enabled.

Any ideas?

Well now it's started working. I have no idea. I've rebooted the computer multiple times while installing drivers and a BIOS update and I guess THIS time it decided to behave.

In addition the dell site says this model shipped with a Half Mini-Card, 6205. However I can't find those drivers.

I FIXED MINE..i had the same issue too.. Mine just showed Turn wifi back on manually, but when i switched the switched nothing happened.

what i did was go to bios setting scroll down to "wireless"...then "wireless switch",and untick WLAN

then click "wireless device enable" make sure everything is ticked

HIT APPLY then restart

thats it!!!

Thank you broo, I thought that there was a fault with my driver or that the WLAN card was damaged. You saved my life
