Null replies in old threads
Hi guys,
I just noticed that some replies are simply "Null" in at least one old thread.
https://community.emc.com/message/231776#231776
Anyone has seen this before?

Yay! I found it. I have updated the post with the original information. I did this manually so the date of the reply is today. But at least we have recovered the original data. In the end it worked out easier than I thought. Lucky break.
Check it out and let me know it's okay for you.
Regards,
Mark

Hi,
This is the first time I have seen after clicking the link, if the issue is experienced regularly then we need to inform the Regulators of the Support Forums.

Hi,
I've sent him a mail earlier today, but he's out of office.
I guess he'll look into it tomorrow
But you're getting the same result? Just in case that is not something with me and/or my profile

Hi Mark,
no idea what so ever
Did it actually change? null somehow could mean that some pointers got lost, maybe?
Do you have identified other threads like this, if it is possible to do so?
If there are several ones, one should think that somebody had noticed, right?
Tricky stuff, sorry about detecting it
Good luck

This is very strange. It's not clear when the content of the post changed. Is it something we missed with the migration? What should it say?

Indeed they are still there Jørg. This is a difficult issue to reconcile. I can't tell if the replies came across as null or if they were modified. The dates of the replies indicate they are in the timeline of the orignal thread. I will look into this further. It may take some time though.

Mark

Hi Mark,
good news
There are two more replies in the same thread (by Subbaraju Gadiraju), which are missing
as well.
Let's hope we don't find too many of these, though

Hi Mark,
thanks for the update.
I understand that this is not easy, and there is no rush at all either.
Best of luck

The discussion is now fixed.I think I also figured out why it happened. The original Forum had those replies that included html code. During the migration it must not have liked it so it scrubbed it.
I also hope that has not happened in too many posts. I imagine we would have heard from other people before now. But if they do appear we are fairly confident of recovering missing replies.
Regards,
Mark
