Powerpath Upgrade to 5.3

Does any one how to upgrade from powerpath version 5.1 to 5.3 on windows servers ? Please provide me the steps .

you don't need to uninstall previous version of PowerPath, just run the installer and follow the steps. You will need to reboot at the very end.

Do i have to save the configuration file before i run the upgrade. ?

Hi

Before installing PowerPath, set up connections between a storage system and a host. The EMC Host Connectivity Guide for Windows provides information on setting up connections for Symmetrix and CLARiiON systems.

  • If you are currently running PowerPath Version 4.1.1 or later, you can upgrade the host directly to PowerPath Version 5.3 without uninstalling the listed version.

  • If a hot fix from an earlier version is installed on the host,uninstall the hot fix of that earlier version of PowerPath before installing PowerPath Version 5.3.

For information on setting up connections for third-party storage  systems, refer to Powerpath documentation.
