VMware or Hyper-V vm guest average IOPS

I've been looking at the IO statistics of a bunch of 1TB VM volumes (both VMware and Hyper-V) The dozen or so I looked at all average around 25-75 IOPS. There are 1000 IOPS spikes but they all appear to be backup driven. Our VMs average about 100 GB each so That's only about 2.5 to 7.5 IOPS per VM average. I know from VM guest to VM guest this changes by a hundred fold but it seems really low to me.

What do other people see?
