Connecting from RHEL 5.4 via bnx2i using iscsi offload does not work
I can make iscsi connection trough real ethernet interfaces, but not trough ifaces. I would like to use offload properties of nic. I have not used hba before, but have used lot of time trying to figure this out. If anyone can help, I will be very happy. I am using RHEL 5.4. In console I get mesages: bnx2i: ISCSI not supported, dev=eth4
bnx2i: ISCSI not supported, dev=eth5
I already put this into other forum, but was adviced to send it here. I did not found any way to move it, sorry cross posting.
Thank you for any information,
Arto
I have following setup:
eth5 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:10:18:5B:EB:9E, inet addr:10.10.13.6 Bcast:10.10.13.255 Mask:255.255.255.0, TCP-offload off
eth4 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:10:18:5B:EB:9C, inet addr:10.10.13.5 Bcast:10.10.13.255 Mask:255.255.255.0, TCP-offload off

Is this a 32-Bit or 64-Bit install ? The following is only if it is 32-Bit OS.
The document Dell™ PowerEdge™ Systems Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 5.4 (x86_64, x86) Installation Instructions and Important Information contains the following information.
Unable to Connect to an iSCSI Target With bnx2i Transport
The iSCSI initiator in a 32-bit installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 fails to connect to a iSCSI target when using the bnx2i transport
(Broadcom
® iSCSI offload capable network controllers). This issue occurs because the initiator forms an incorrect target MAC address
which prevents login to the target.
A fix for this issue will be available in a future update of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
