Delete member from shared pool with 3 EqualLogic members

Hi,

I think my last post failed to upload.

How do I delete an EQL member gone bad from the shared pool?

All EQL are running raid6 and there is enough free storage to remove the bad device.

PS4000 (bad), PS4100 and PS6000

Hello,

Is the array online or showing OFFLINE in the GUI?    If online, then you can use the delete member option in the GUI.  This will move the data off to the other members.

What's wrong with the PS4000?

Thanks for reply, i'll perform the delete member. All arrays are online and in production. The old PS4000 has a disk failure and support is EOL.

I would move this EQL into a empty (default or maintancence) pool which also evacuate all existing data to the existing members. After that you can try to reconfigure the unit to RAID6 and leave it there for whatever or hunt for a refurnished EQL drive.

Hi Joerg,

EOL and out-of-warranty arrays shouldn't be mixed with under supported arrays in the same group.  Better to create a new group for such arrays.
