EQUALLOGIC 6110 initial setup failing

While performing initial setup for EQUALLOGIC 6110 
getting an error msg

IP address for network interface []: 192.168.6.8
   Netmask [255.255.255.0]:
   Default gateway [192.168.6.1]:

 Initializing interface eth0.  This may take a minute...........
   *** Interface eth0 failed to connect to the network.  Please establish a network link to eth0.
       Please try again.

please suggest me

A(one) cable in the active Controller is enought. You can use SFP+ or BaseT.

Connecting to a Server (your Blade) should also work. Just a "link" is needed. Once you have bypass the wizard you can setup the optional managing port. This one also needs an uplink, but you can use an normal switch there. After that you can point your browser to that IP.

Without dedetecting a valid uplink of the eth0 the install wizard will report a failure and stops. Using a 100/1000Gbit Switch doesnt work and you need a 10GbE one.

IIRC i was successfull in using the EHT0 of the standby controller to bypass that issue. But you have to plugin the cable in the right order.

So, do we need to use 10 gig switch connected to the both Ethernet ports ?

I have a DELL M1000e i have SFP+ port in that

Can i connect SFP+ port with the equalogic to intialize the ETH 0 ?

Will that work ?

Yeah it worked, Thansk Joerg

However when i tried removing the SFP+ and connected copper cable in the eth 0 when i tried to ping the IP is not pingable, any suggestions?

since one site i have blade server with SFP+

in other site we dont have a blade chasis or a 10 gig switch

Though to configure with SFP+ and start using the copper howevr it doesnt work ?
