Hello,

You can't use an OEM or Non Dell/EQL hard drive.  The drives are made by the MFR specifically modified to be recognized by the array software.  You can't use a Dell server drive either.   There is no way to make a standard drive work either.

So you will need to find a 3rd party vendor to buy a refurbished or used 600GB EQL drive.

Thanks for the reply.
But the other discs in the matrix are MN: ST3600057SS just like this new disc
But the only difference is the firmware version
Wouldn't it be necessary to perform some command by console, so that the matrix recognizes this disk?

Thank you

Hello,

re: Model.  The model numbers maybe the same but not how the drive was modified so that EQL firmware could recognize it. There is no way to make an OEM or non-EQL mfr'd drive to work.  There are no hidden commands it's hard coded into the firmware on the array.  It's hard coded on the drive as well.

 Regards,

Don
