Manage EQL

Greetings,

I have multiple EQL devices to manage and monitor via SANHQ

Two I can add and manage no probs.

The third, which seems installed the same was I can't add. The only difference I can see is it is setup to use CHAP for iSCSI authentication. (I can access via the Java Group Manager, no problemo)

Would that stop SANHQ being able to work ?

Cheers,

LM

Hello,

Need a bit more information to suggest some potential causes.

First, CHAP for iSCSI only affects servers connecting via iSCSI. It does not impact management.

 1.)  What version of SANHQ?

2.)  What are the Firmware revisions of the array that fails?

3.)  What is the specific error when you try to attach it to SANHQ?

A common issue is if that array that doesn't connect is using dedicated management (aka out-of-band) then you have to use the Management alias, not the iSCSI discovery address.

 4)  What are the firmware revisions of the arrays that work?

 5)  Are all the arrays on the same IP subnet?

 Regards,

Don
