PS 5000 Storage issue

I have a wierd issue with my dell PS5000

few days ago my dell storage crashed. I connect it with console and reset to factory defaults. then i reconfigure it  member and group IP settings. its working good and i was able to manage it and access its storage services from network. but after reboot from console its control goes to secondary/passive controller and unable to access it from member or group IP. when i check status from console it shows all the settings of group and member but no access from its IPs.. even it cant ping group n member ip. tried number of times to reset and reconfigure but every time same thing happen rebooting the storage and access gone from network

Hello,

Are both controllers wired up?    If not try moving the cables.;

EQL have one singe active controller module and one on standby. The later one offer additional CPU and Cache but the network isnt active.  Only on a controller failover or restart of the array the standby becomes an active one and network goes online.

Are you using VLANs on your switches?  Perhaps the passive ports are in a different VLAN?

On every restart the role of active/standby changed and its a normal behaviour on a EQL.

- check all of your 3 network cables and the switchports

- try to change the controller modules and see if the network problem moves with the contoller

Only the active CM on a PS5000 will show active network links.

Have you tried swapping the cables?   Since the array is up, you can serial into it, that suggests an issue on the network
