powerconnect 2024 - suitable for iSCSI?

hi there,

We are thinking of installing an Equallogic ps4100x with 2x Powerconnect 2024 switches to be used for iSCSI.

I just wondered if these switches are suitable as they are at the lower end of the range. To give you an idea of size the office is 60 users but projected to grow to 150.

Cheers,

Huw

PS- Hope this is the right forum. I wasn't sure whether to post here or in the switch forum

Hello Huw,

No, the 2024 is a 10/100 unmanaged switch.  That will definitely not be suitable for iSCSI use at all.

This link has the compatibility guide, which lists tested switches.

You need a managed GbE switch, ideally that supports flowcontrol, and jumbo frames.
