Firmware update to MD3220i

Hi Guys.

Just about to do a firmware update to the latest version 8.20.24.60 but here is my worry.

The MDSM is on a virtual server that comes off one of my hosts.

Do i need to install the latest MDSM on a physical box, and do the upgrade that way, or is it ok to run the upgrade from the virtual server?

If i have to install on a physical box, do i need to uninstall the existing on the virtual server

Its dual controller.

ive read lots of posts that this should be ok as its dual controller,and i will also have everything else powered off. Obviously i will have to leave one host on with the VM which has the MDSM

Any help would be great.
