Polling SNMP Agent on Powervault MD3000

I have an MD3000 with both Out-of-Band (on secure provate VLAN) and In-Band connectivity configured. All works fine and I can monitor OK usually out-of-band using MDSMC.

I use iReasoning's MIB Browser for testing SNMP set up as it can both poll and receive traps. I also use Net-SNMP.

Using one of the out-of-band connections SNMP Community is configured - community name and IPv4 of the NMS that traps go to. MIB is loaded in NMS OK.

When testing, traps are never received by NMS and I cannot poll the agent i.e. SNMP Get over UDP 161. Polling and traps work fine with other equipment on the same VLAN - UPS, PDUs, OMSA and iDRAC6 so I am certain the issue is not the router firewall module. And since I'm using out-of-band the SNMP and Firewall services on the attached server (2008 R2) are not involved.

Has anyone had success in using SNMP Gets etc. against an MD3000 SNMP Agent via the out-of-band interfaces? If so,how dod you manage it?
