8500 getting very hot after format and reinstall of XP
Hi all,
I've had my laptop for over a year (Inspiron 8500) and have never had any issues with it :)
Until now
/Cue horror music
I formatted the C drive and reinstalled XP with the CD supplied, then paritioned the C drive so that I had a System drive (C) and general stuff (E).
I'm pretty sure i've downloaded all the relevant drivers, there are no conflicts in the device manager.
Since reinstalling, I've noticed that the laptop becomes extremely hot and the fan does not come on!
This happens even if the laptop has only been on for an hour or so.
Is there something else that I need to do, or shouldnt do for that matter?
